Moody McCarthy: few people hate him!
Moody McCarthy is a stand-up comedian who lives in New York with his wife and step-dog. Moody has made numerous TV appearances, highlighted by scintillating sets on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Moody was born “Matthew” in Syracuse, NY, into a boisterous household with six siblings. (Somebody had to get a nickname, and it was him.) Moody began doing comedy in 1992 after his music and astronaut careers stalled. He soon distinguished himself as an original and was hired by Syracuse’s top radio show to cover sports and write jokes, two of his loves. After six years of performing regionally Moody traded square footage for more comedy opportunities and moved to New York City.
This millennium has been good to Moody: he’s been featured on Last Comic Standing; Star Search (the 2003 reboot); America’s Got Talent; and Gotham Comedy Live. He’s a regular at some of the best clubs in the land, and has performed on three continents.
Moody’s material is described as smart and universal without being trite. Couple that with a disarming stage presence & in-the-moment chops, you’ll see why he’s earned the admiration of his peers for his ability to “go up cold”, and turn a dormant setting into a lively comedy room. From pubs to county clubs to corporate outings, he will brighten any event.
TV: Late Show with David Letterman (CBS); Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC); America’s Got Talent (NBC); Last Comic Standing IV (NBC); Star Search 2003 (CBS); Gotham Comedy Live (AXStv); Comedy.TV; The Early Show
CLUBS: Dangerfields; Gotham; Comic Strip Live; Eastville; Syracuse Funny Bone; Hilarities; Helium; Absolute Comedy; Royal Caribbean.
ETC.: SAG/AFTRA member; trained at Joanna Beckson’s Acting Studio; performed comedy in China and now speaks 3 words of Mandarin.
Jon made his late night television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman. He has been featured on Celebrity Apprentice and in Maxim Magazine, and was the host of the widely popular podcast: In the Tank.
His appearances on Last Comic Standing 4, where he was the New York City Capital One Audience Favorite, gained him wide recognition and a new legion of fans. He has also been seen on Comedy Central, VH1 and was invited to be perform at the TBS Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Chicago and the Great American Comedy Festival at the Johnny Carson Theatre in Norfolk, Nebraska.
A staple in the NYC scene Jon performs regularly at Gotham Comedy Club, The World Famous Comic Strip LIve, Comedy Cellar, and Broadway Comedy Club. Of his numerous credits, people seem most impressed with Jon being hand picked to open for Jerry Seinfeld at Gotham Comedy Club.
Mike Speirs is a very funny New York City based comedian whose likeability allows him to instantly connect with any crowd. Now in his 30’s, Mike finds his youth to be more and more of a distant memory, as he comes to grips with being a full-fledged grown up. Using sharp punchlines and his highly engaging story telling skills Mike’s act examines who he was, who he is, and who he hopes to become.
Whether he is reminiscing about his days as a heavy drinking party boy, discussing the joy and pain that was his career as a public school teacher, sharing his successes and failures (mostly) navigating the dating scene, or lamenting over his failures to regain the slender physique he never had, Mike can entertain and energize virtually any audience.
Dan Shaki is a stand-up comedian living in NYC. Since the age of six, it’s all he’s ever wanted to do. After receiving a degree in electrical engineering, he gave up many hours of sleep in order to work during the day and spend all the rest of his time in seedy NYC comedy clubs at night. He’s been making up for the lost sleep ever since while continuing to explore the glamorous comedy lifestyle on a nightly basis. His comedic outlook although dark and cynical never resorts to cheap laughs or easy crowd pleasing statements. He is definitely a comic’s comic who’s always a pleasure to have in the green room.
In 2014 Dan made his stand up television debut on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live. He has been featured on XM radio’s “New Rascal’s Comedy Hour”, was the runner up in Caroline's World Series Tournament, was a finalist in The Gilda’s Club Laugh Off, quarterfinalist in the Page International Screenwriting Awards, and can be seen regularly performing all over New York City.
