May 16, 2014

Friday, 8pm

Mark Doyle’s Guitar Noir - performing the entire In Dreams album with a 5-piece band and String Ensemble, along with selections from Guitar Noir and Out of the Past.

"By fearlessly venturing into musical territory that is surely foreign to many of his peers, Doyle has notched an impressive artistic achievement.”  -Syracuse New Times

"Who’s Central New York’s King of the Electric Guitar?  With his boundless creativity spanning all the styles from rock to jazz to rhythm and blues, not to mention his world class chops and world class credits, Mark Doyle reigns supreme."   -Table Hopping

Mark Doyle has had a distinguished career in the music business since his first band, Jukin’ Bone, was signed to RCA while Mark was in his late teens. He’s gone on to make records as guitarist or producer with David Werner, Cindy Bullens, Andy Pratt, Leo Sayer, Hall & Oates, Judy Collins, Meat Loaf, and Bryan Adams, and has provided string arrangements for numerous recordings by the likes of New Kids On The Block, The Cavedogs, The Stylistics, and Tiffany.

He currently leads his own band, Mark Doyle & The Maniacs, who have released four albums and play consistently throughout the Northeast.  As a solo artist, In Dreams: Guitar Noir II is his third all-instrumental release, following 1999’s Guitar Noir and 2001’s Out Of The Past.  With a band that includes Bill DiCosimo on keyboards, Edgar Pagan on bass, Josh Dekaney on drums and Terry Quill on guitar, the show at Auburn Public Theater will also feature a 5-piece string ensemble doing arrangements especially created by Doyle for this show.
