Dear Friend of Auburn Public Theater,
There are so many new and exciting developments to tell you about. For
starters, in our 70-seat movie theater, we have had the opportunity every
Friday and Saturday night since last July to showcase classic, independent,
foreign, short, documentary, family and second-run movies right here in
the middle of downtown Auburn!
We have also completed construction on our new celebrated entrance on the
Genesee Exchange Mall, our new main corridor within the building, our
fabulous (and plentiful) new bathrooms and our newly designed 200 seat main
theater. All of us at Auburn Public Theater are humbled by the gifts we have
received, not only from private foundations, but from so many individuals in
the community who give us a vote of confidence with every donation they make
and every ticket they purchase.
We have been very busy working on all of the above improvements while, at
the same time, we have continued to provide quality programming. In the
immortal words of one of my dearest friends, You guys must be crazy! At
times, all of the above tasks taken together have become just this side of
overwhelming on a number of levels. To that end, we could certainly use some
help.
While the grant money we have received to date feels like more than a dream
come true, it was specially earmarked for capital improvements only. To
cover operating expenses and production costs, we rely solely on the money
we earn through ticket sales and the generous donations made so far by
individuals and local businesses that, quite frankly, seem as passionate
about ensuring the survival of APT as we are. Four years ago, through our
seat plaque donation program (which was successful beyond our wildest
dreams), we raised the money needed to operate and produce for our entire
first year. To help raise funds which will literally help keep the lights on
at 108 Genesee Street in 2009 and 2010, would you consider making a
tax-deductible donation to Auburn Public Theater - the money we raise will
allow us to pursue our goal of providing year-round arts programming ranging
from children entertainment, original and cutting-edge live theater as
well as works of local historic value.
I hope you will join our community venture by enjoying the programs at
Auburn Public Theater and, especially, by donating. If you have questions or
would like further information, please feel free to call me at the theater
at (315) 253-6669 or send me an email at angela@auburnpublictheater.com.
On behalf of everyone at Auburn Public Theater, I offer you many thanks for
what has been and what I hope will be your continued support.
Best regards,
Angela Daddabbo
